Rachel Summers works locally as a forest school practitioner at Curious Wilds, bringing together children, families, and their local urban wild spaces. Her sessions involve playful exploration and creative nature connection. Through lockdown, when she was unable to meet with groups, she woke up one day and took a chalk for a walk, annotating the street trees as a gift to those around her. She ended up having a crazy couple of weeks as it went viral on twitter! Rachel never realised what an incredible variety of trees we are lucky to have locally. She’s still not a tree expert- far from it- but describes herself as a tree enthusiast, and in the words of a newspaper article, a Rebel Botanist.
