Mbilla Arts promotes education and performance programmes in African performing and visual arts. Mbilla Arts CIC delivers workshops, classes, projects and events across East London and beyond offering a wide range of art forms including African drumming, dance, storytelling, drama, circus skills, poetry, printmaking, mask making and upcycled arts. Established in 2006 by Gambian drummer Seneke Sillah and community dance practitioner Chantelle Michaux, Mbilla Arts is based at Crate St James and runs weekly drumming workshops at Gnome House for adults and children of all ages and abilities.
