Explore In the Air - a photography and film exhibition celebrating the spirit of local skateboarding crews. The show is a visual exploration of youth and community through eyes of skate culture in Waltham Forest.

Skateboarding has developed its own distinct visual language over the years, becoming recognised in youth culture as a genre in its own right. Skateparks around Waltham Forest have become focus points for skateboarders and artists from diverse backgrounds. Skateboarding is not a team sport, and so rules and inbuilt hierarchies need not apply and can prove invaluable in encouraging integration and collaboration.

This exhibition is an introduction to a bigger project over the autumn, accompanied with a publication about the local skate community by legendary skate photographer Wig Worland and art directed by Ben Weaver.

Artists will include:
Jenna Selby, Wig Worland, Rachel Sherlock, Paweł Tichoniuk, Bismark, Jake Martinelli, Kevin Parrot, yes fam, Jak Pietryga and many more.
