Until Sun 19 Jul
Kit Kite is a specially designed activity kit created by Blackhorse Workshop, giving you the materials and instructions to build your very own kite. Inspired by Japanese kite-making traditions, this simple Kimono (sode) kite is made using a lashed wood frame, introducing traditional fastening techniques and lightweight parachute material. Shaped like a kimono sleeve, this is usually highly decorated thanks to its large surface area.
We challenge you to design, construct and fly your own. Channel your message to the world, dedicate it to your hero and showcase your design skills. To receive your own Kit Kite sign up here. Register online from the 1 - 12 July and we’ll deliver it to your door. Kits are free, limited to one per household.
If you need inspiration check out the gallery here and be inspired by our professional makers. There is also a How To Video to help you construct yours.
