Waltham Forest Community Choir began in Walthamstow in February 2010. The choir believes that singing is a simple pleasure of life that should be accessible to anyone. We are a non-auditioning group who welcomes everyone who is interested to join us. Weekly rehearsals aim to introduce various singing and musical tips with a jargon-free approach.
Our musical Repertoire is diverse and ranges from choral works to traditional folk to popular songs and the choir have sung in many different styles from acapella, barbershop quartet, backed by local bands to a full performance of Faure’s Requiem with a chamber orchestra.
The choir has performed extensively throughout the borough singing at the Chingford Festival, busking at Blackhorse Road in aid of Haven House and taking part in the All Saints Day & All Souls Day Choral Mass at St Andrew’s Church in Leytonstone.
Singing promotes physical and mental health and helps develop social bonds but most of all we meet every week because singing is fun!
With this in mind, the choir will be performing some well-known and much loved songs and will be encouraging everybody in the audience to join in with us.
